Tenaya Launches GreenPath® Meetings

Delaware North Companies Parks & Resorts at Tenaya Lodge can now offer large groups and corporate parties the opportunity to hold environmentally friendly meetings thanks to the company’s innovative, new GreenPath® Meetings Program.

GreenPath® Meetings is an extension of Delaware North’s award-winning environmental management program GreenPath®. Adopted in early 2000, GreenPath® has guided the company’s waste prevention, stewardship and environmental efforts at such natural jewels as Yosemite National Park, Grand Canyon and Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex.

Through the new GreenPath® Meetings function Tenaya staff is better equipped to assist large and small groups who are interested in holding their event in a beautiful setting with minimum impact to the environment. The GreenPath Meeting program focuses on five key areas to ensure the meetings have as limited an impact on the environment as possible. Those areas encompass disposable-free service, food and beverage selection, meeting recycling, eco-service options, property commitment.

“This is the kind of program that keeps Delaware North and GreenPath® on the cutting edge of corporate environmental efforts,” said John Huey, director of sustainability and environmental affairs for Delaware North Companies. “We’ve had great success in the ‘green’ meetings movement arena and we’re already looking at trying to bring this to our other properties around the country.”

In 2007, Delaware North received a Silver IMEX Green Meetings Award for hosting a ‘green meeting’ for the Sierra Business Council conference at Curry Village and Yosemite Lodge at the Falls in Yosemite National Park.
